J1 Examination for adolescents
The J1 examination is a check-up of the physical and mental health of adolescents. At this age puberty is in full swing – the young people experience the changes of the body.
My goal is to be a person adolescents can confide in and in a relaxed atmosphere. This meeting presents the possibility to talk without inhibitions about subjects such as sexuality and birth control, drugs and addiction, problems in the family and with school or with the social environment, to answer all questions, if necessary in private, and to strengthen the self-confidence.
A physical examination is recommended but will only carried out upon consultation and acceptance by the adolescent. Possible fears regarding the examinations can be dispelled through an informative conversation.
As part of this check-up examination factors such as height, weight and the vaccination status will be checked as well as the blood and urine. Especially at the age of 12 to 17 years booster vaccinations against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis and polio should be administered. During a physical examination the pubertal development stages as well as the condition of the inner organs, the skeletal system and the sensory functions will be checked. A false posture due to growth spurts and other diseases can be diagnosed in an early stage and an appropriate therapy can be induced. Also possible skin (e.g. neurodermatitis) and weight (underweight or overweight) problems as well as eating disorders such as anorexia can be discussed.
Please bring your (yellow) examination records, vaccination passport, and possible other records (e.g. X-rays, lung function tests, etc.). As moral support you are more than welcome to bring your boyfriend / girlfriend or your parents.
To all adolescents: I would be very happy if this is an appealing offer for you.
